Creamland Dairies, Inc was formed in 1937 by a group of Albuquerque farmers and businessmen who bought out Albuquerque's oldest existing plant operated by the Albuquerque Dairy Association. 

Most people who associate a special shape hot air balloon with milk in New Mexico think of Airabelle the Cow and Creamland Dairy.  The Airabelle icon has come to represent the many quality products produced by Creamland and Airabelle is prominently displayed on most Creamland packaging.  Over the years, Airabelle has come to represent not only Creamland Dairy, but Dean Foods and their many subsidiaries as well. 

In 2000 Airabelle was voted the most popular special shape at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, a distinction she has claimed more than any other special shape attending the Fiesta.
